Top Gun Large Coed redefined the word fierce at the 2015 CheerSport Nationals and NCA Nationals when they debuted a tumbling pass that left everyone awestruck. Using Illusion Hoops designed just for them by GK, these elite athletes practically disappeared right in front the spectators' eyes. Nine of TGLC's female team members tumbled right through the center of these custom designed hoops in an epic display fit for only World Champions. The cheer industry cannot get enough of Top Gun, and honestly, neither can we! Our partnership with them is founded on common goals that cement both Top Gun and GK as the leading trendsetters and innovators in the cheer industry. This partnership continues to push us beyond today's standard, making GK stronger than ever and solidifying our position as the Choice of Champions.
We recently caught up with Top Gun Owners Victor and Kristen Rosario to get the inside scoop on their 2015 CheerSport Nationals and NCA Nationals routine and how they continue to be the most coveted and accomplished cheer empire in the world.
GK: The Cheer industry is going crazy over the Top Gun Large Coed routine at CheerSport earlier this month. Can you tell us about your inspiration for the Illusion Hoop in your latest routine?
VR&KR: Each year we strive to come up with something that will set us apart from the rest of the competition and keep people talking about it for many years to come. We've been wanting to use the idea of the Illusion Hoops for a few years now, but with the help of GK, we finally realized how to make it come to fruition.
GK: Since this concept has never been done before in cheer, it must have taken some time to perfect the creative and technical design. Can you tell us about that process?
VR&KR: It took approximately two months for us to develop the concept and create our own make-shift design at home, then another two months of collaboration with GK to perfect the final design and artwork. After that, it took about a month of choreographing and training this section of our routine to get it looking competition ready.
GK: The Top Gun All Stars have experienced a large amount of growth in the past few years. What helps the gym stay focused on producing the most technically advanced routines in the industry?
VR&KR: For us, it's never been about the placement of our teams that matters as much as our commitment to entertain and inspire others.
GK: Every year, Top Gun continues to exceed expectations, not only in their routines, but also when it comes to their innovative cheerleading uniform designs. Where does your inspiration come from and how do you continue to stay a step ahead of everyone else?
VR&KR: It really is much harder than it seems. It takes the input of many and lots of trial and error to get it correct.
GK: What has been your personal all-time favorite Top Gun cheer uniform?
VR&KR: Victor's favorite Top Gun All Star cheer uniform so far is the current black and gold one shown in the video above. Kristen's would be the 2010 Top Gun Large Coed white uniform, especially because it was the first year we designed the boots.
After years of working with Top Gun to provide the fiercest cheerleading apparel in the industry, Victor and Kristen had the utmost confidence that GK would once again be able to design something that's never been seen before. Our production and design development teams worked through the research and development process until to until this cutting edge Illusion Hoop design came to life. We were so honored to get involved with Top Gun All Stars' choreography and making their vision a reality.
GK Cheer. Choice Of Champions.
