Onyx, from Platinum Athletics in Maryland Heights, MO, was geared up to take the stage at Cheer Worlds 2014 in their GK Sublimated cheerleading team practice wear! It was an honor to be included in this incredible competition that brings together over 9000 cheer athletes from over 40 different countries, and Onyx did not take this opportunity lying down. To help them prepare, GK designed an exclusive ink'd cheer practice wear look that helped the team rise to the occasion.

The girls chose our low rise basic print cheer short in FoilTek fabric to add extra shine.Their V neck Techmesh Back Cheer Crop Top optimizes breathable comfort and stylish swag. What is The Next Level for Rec League competitive cheerleading uniforms? Cheer Starz, Reach the Beach and Maryland Cup Nationals Champions, Spirit Cheer from Jarrettsville Recreation Center have a few tips to get you there. Their winning cheer uniform is a sight for sore eyes, a silhouette that is stunning on every cheerleader on the squad.

Tip 1: Create a smooth, flattering canvas. A matte-finish, such as the Black DryTech featured in Spirit's rec cheer uniform, is the way to go if you're looking for smooth lines. It's available in in various colors, so you're not stuck with just black. If you're super concerned with hiding unwanted lines, we recommend sticking to a darker shade, but otherwise, you have a choice of more than 30 colors to choose from. There's also a couple added perks to using DryTech, and that's the stretch and wicking technology that's manufactured in the material. It stretches to fit all figures, while also locking away moisture that may cause irritation and discomfort. It's a win win. 

Tip 2: Decorate the most flattering part of the body with dazzling appliques and jewels to draw the eye in the right direction. What muscles do we, as cheer athletes, tend to use the most? We use our arms, shoulders and backs to punch out motions, tumble and lift our flyers, leaving all of those muscle groups looking spectacular. Let's make good use of those solid, sturdy lines, and accentuate them. Spirit Cheer chose a Vinca Mystique and White Sparkle Hologram applique to give their Abstract Vine Sleeve Cheer Uniform Top U169L all the right attention. The colors offset the black with a soft, feminine quality that really gives these ladies a beautiful glow. It came as no surprise when TRI Athletics Cheerleading Team from Durham, NC won Best Uniform at the All Star Challenge in Raleigh, NC in this one-of-a-kind GK Cheerleading Uniform. As this team made their way to the 2014 Worlds Cheerleading Competition, they lit up the stage once more at the semi-finals in their award winning style. She says, "The determination to win is the best part about being a champion," and her interview with Inside Cheerleading Magazine reveals a deep maturity in Dawson. These Level 5 Killer Bees from The Spirit of Tyler in Tyler, TX created quite a buzz among the competition in a custom GK cheer uniform. East Athletic Cheer, an All Star gym in Laconia, New Hampshire, wanted a fresh new way to unite their team members and make the most out of practice. Using inspiration from a local artist, East Athletic Cheer incorporated this creative piece of art into a fantastic sublimated design by GK.

RockStarz Diamonds stole the show in their diamond inspired GK cheerleading uniform! This All Star team acquired quite the list of achievements from numerous awards received at multiple New Jersey competitions, to placing 4th in the Small Senior B Division and 5th place in group A and B at the 2014 World Championship!  Incorporating their team name into every aspect of their cheer uniforms, this sensational team wanted to make sure their love for the sparkling gem was crystal clear. The RockStarz Diamonds worked closely with GK designers to make sure that this spectacular jewel was the main focal point for their custom cheer uniform.

Congratulations to the Top Gun All Star and Orlando All Star cheerleading programs who took cheerleading to the next level by joining together last month to become an undeniable powerhouse! The 2013-2014 year has been an exhilarating season for Top Gun. They began building their newest state of the art facility in Miami, brought home two more World Champion titles (totaling 8 Gold, 3 Silver and 7 Bronze) and had the largest athlete evaluations to date! If that isn't enough, they have just added the talented Orlando All Stars team to the Jaguar Nation making this the third city and fourth Top Gun location in Florida. Cory Hines, a Top Gun coach and GK account manager, tells us that "this is a franchising situation where Miami will be implementing several policies and training techniques as well as doing camps and creative workshops with Top Gun Orlando." Top Gun Miami, Top Gun SW and Top Gun Orlando are excited to come together and take on the next season with the unique ideals and philosophies that have made Top Gun All Stars one of the most talented and recognized cheerleading programs in the world!
